As an organic advocate, I was very interested in attending the recent ‘Farm to Table’ panel at the Vegas Uncork’d festival. Top chefs, including Bellagio Executive Chef Edmund Wong and sustainability advocate Rick Moonen, discussed the importance of supporting local and sustainable farms by designing menus that feature those food items. Organics, sustainability, ‘locovores’, oh my! In honor of today’s Earth Day celebrations, I’ve compiled a small pile of newsbits with a green focus. Remember – you don’t have to think about sustainability just one day a year. Reduce, reuse, recycle every day! Be cognizant of your carbon footprint, from your car to your lunch! Encourage your favorite restaurants to utilize locally produced, organic food stuffs. Build a composter in your own backyard! The environmental-friendly possibilities are endless. Happy Earth Day!

Here we go again gang! For your reading pleasure on this lovely Sunday evening, I present a few culinary newsbits from around the world!

Another day, another recall! Nestle Prepared Foods Company announced a recall on Friday of over 200,000 pounds worth of frozen stuffed pepperoni pizza sandwich products – more commonly known as Hot Pockets!
